机构简介:

Welcome to the Faculty of Veterinary Science Research website. Within these pages you will meet our academic staff, researchers and research students. You will see that our research interests span animal health, livestock production science, and wildlife research. We have strong links with Rural Research and Development Corporations. Our researchers are supported by a range of funding sources including ARC, NHMRC and CRC. Food production and food security research connects us to the Charles Perkins Centre (CPC) and to an international program supported by Australian and international aid and development agencies. Similarly, research in veterinary public health and biosecurity provides a link to the Marie Bashir Institute for Infectious Diseases and Biosecurity (MBI), and to collaborative programs in SE-Asia and Africa. We are international leaders in companion animal health, welfare and behavior research and we provide leadership in the newly formed Human-Animal Research Network, and in comparative oncology via theUniversity of Sydney Cancer Network. A growing area of research strength within the Faculty is wildlife research, where we specialize in health and conservation issues that affect our native wildlife.

Our faculty’s commitment to multi-disciplinary research in animal and veterinary sciences has been recently been recognized with the award of a maximum score of 5 in the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) federal government scheme for the veterinary sciences field of research.

We are very proud of our undergraduate and post-graduate research students, who are an integral part of our research effort. Student research is highlighted each year in our annual post-graduate research conference. Postgraduate Research Conference. If you are interested in postgraduate studies within the Faculty, you can find Current Research Opportunities listed here.

We welcome new research collaborations, so if you are interested in developing new research or commercial linkages with any of our researcher please get in touch.
